The Legend of St. George
The Legend of St. George is a centuries old tale about a Turkish knight who rescues a small kingdom in modern day Libya. In his travels he stumbles upon a princess in peril and defeats what has been ailing the town. The image of St. George impaling the dragon is abundant in Christian culture and is an icon recognized around the world.
Inspiration for the Illustration style is Edward Gorey, a late 20th century pen and ink illustrator, known for his macabre and heavily cross hatched short stories. The illustration style also takes inspiration from Byzantine icons, with large and simplified features.
