Flyers
I've been creating flyers for local DIY shows, tours, and festivals for the past few years; dating all the way back to when I was a mid-teen. These flyers are typically created using analog collage in combination with various Adobe design programs. I rely on analog collage because it is more evocative of physical media and pushes against the minimal design that we are typically surrounded by. Limiting myself to my personal collection of hoarded images leads to more spontaneity and a more unique visual language.
Fine Art Analog Collage
Analog collage is where I explore fine art and showcase my personal artistic philosophy. Collaging can be used to explore the subconscious and its associations. My process involves very little planning, but can entail painstaking care on what is included in any given piece and where the cut-outs are placed. This process may take only an afternoon, or multiple months at a time to complete.
Themes and motifs that typically arise in my work are classical art, Christianity, and an emphasis on juxtaposing different time periods next to each other. I like the idea of history occurring all at once and everything from time converging to a single point.
